SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 (Bernama) – The West Coast Expressway (WCE) Section 1, connecting the Banting Interchange to the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) Interchange, will begin toll collection effective 12.01 am on Sept 30.
In a statement today, WCE announced that the 12.5-kilometre stretch had been operating toll-free since its opening by Works Minister Datuk Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi on Aug 31.
The toll collection will be fully electronic, utilising Touch 'n Go cards, Smart Tag, and RFID.
"The toll rates and payment methods for Section 1 of the WCE are fully integrated with the SKVE via the Tanjung Dua Belas Interchange. It takes into account the entire journey, including the segment on the SKVE," the statement said.
Toll rates will be charged based on vehicle class and travel distance, ranging from RM1.70 to RM16.11, it added.
Highway users are advised to ensure their e-wallet balance and Touch 'n Go card have sufficient funds before starting their journey to avoid any inconvenience at the toll plazas.

The WCE is a major highway project in Malaysia, spanning 233 km from Banting, Selangor to Taiping (Changkat Jering), Perak.
Once fully completed, it will serve as a critical transportation link, connecting towns along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
