KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Bhd (EPIC) has won four prestigious recognitions at the 43rd Malaysia Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) Occupational Safety and Health Awards, held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

In a statement today, the integrated oil and gas solutions provider said that the awards demonstrated the company’s steadfast commitment to occupational safety and health excellence.

At this year’s ceremony, Pangkalan Bekalan Kemaman Sdn Bhd (PBKSB), a subsidiary of EPIC providing oil and gas supply and support base services, achieved its first MSOSH Gold Merit after recording excellent OSH performance scores in the 85 to 89.99 per cent range.

“The achievement marks another milestone for PBKSB, which had previously sustained the MSOSH Gold (Class I) recognition for five consecutive years.

“Meanwhile, two other subsidiaries, namely EPIC OG Sdn Bhd, which provides engineering and maintenance services for the oil and gas sector, and Konsortium Pelabuhan Kemaman Sdn Bhd, the operator of the Kemaman Port, also recorded commendable progress, each receiving the MSOSH Gold (Class I) after attaining the MSOSH Gold (Class II) last year,” it said.

EPIC group chief executive officer Dr Ts Muhtar Suhaili was also named one of the recipients of the MSOSH President’s Award, a recognition of his continued leadership and commitment to embedding a culture of safety and health excellence within the organisation.

“These recognitions reflect the collective effort of all employees who continuously uphold safety as a core value in every operation. They demonstrate that good safety practices are not only about compliance but are also fundamental to operational excellence and organisational productivity,” he said.

He also emphasised that EPIC remains committed to strengthening its sustainable OSH management systems and fostering a safety-first culture among its workforce.

“We will continue to build on this momentum by promoting awareness, adopting best practices, and ensuring every operation is conducted in a safe, healthy, and productive environment for the well-being of our employees, partners, and stakeholders,” he said.

The annual ceremony, organised by MSOSH, was officiated by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

It brought together leading organisations and professionals that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to cultivating a strong safety and health culture in the workplace.

Since its inception in 1982, the MSOSH Awards have been regarded as one of Malaysia’s benchmarks in recognising organisations that consistently uphold the highest standards in OSH management and implementation.
