KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) hopes that whoever succeeds Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz after his tenure as the agency’s minister ends on Dec 2, 2025, will continue the good work carried out under his leadership.
Deputy MITI Minister Liew Chin Tong said Tengku Zafrul has set a high bar, and hopes the next minister will continue promoting the interests of Malaysian industry, strengthening the country’s trade relationships, and improving the investment ecosystem.
“Over these three years, Tengku Zafrul has shown that MITI plays an important role in advancing our industries, strengthening trade relations with other countries, and promoting investment into the nation under his leadership.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Tengku Zafrul on behalf of MITI and the people of Malaysia for his leadership,” he told the media after officiating the MITI ASEAN Day 2025 here today.
Tengku Zafrul, who has served as senator for two terms since 2020, will complete his six-year tenure in the Dewan Negara on Dec 2.
