LABUAN, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr. Zaliha Mustafa today visited the RM9.5 million Ministry of Communications Complex at Jalan Tanjung Taras, during her working trip to Labuan.
The complex houses the ministry's key agencies including the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Bureau office, RTM Labuan, the Information Department, and the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Dr. Zaliha was briefed by Information Department director Azman Sipan on the complex's construction, facilities, and functionality.
She also took the opportunity to engage with staff, emphasising the importance of their role in improving communication services and information dissemination in Labuan.
Earlier, Dr. Zaliha appeared live on Labuan FM to discuss development issues affecting the island and the government's initiatives to address them.
Following the broadcast, she gave an exclusive interview to Bernama, reflecting on her first year as the Minister responsible for Labuan's affairs.
"This communication complex is not just a building; it is a testament to the government’s commitment to strengthening information networks, launching government and community programmes, as well as facilitating news dissemination in Labuan.
“It is crucial for ensuring the voices of the people here are heard and their needs addressed," she said.
