HAWANA WRAPS UP 2024 CAMPUS TOUR WITH CUTTING EDGE COMPUTERS, TV FOR THREE VARSITIES

KUALA NERUS, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Three public universities in the East Coast today received a set of high-performance computer and a 65-inch television set each contributed by the Ministry of Communications, through the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) as the secretariat for National Journalists' Day (HAWANA).

The donation worth RM20,000 was in conjunction with the HAWANA 2024 Campus Tour programme in the Eastern Zone which took place at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).

The universities that received the donations were UniSZA, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).

UniSZA vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam said the donation will be fully utilised by students and lecturers at the Faculty of Languages ​​and Communication.

He said that with the high-speed computer and TV, the teaching and learning process would definitely be rendered easier, interactively and effectively.

"UniSZA would like to thank the Ministry of Communications and HAWANA for the very beneficial contribution. In this age of high technology, the need for compatible equipment is essential to improve the quality of learning and teaching of UniSZA students," he said at the HAWANA 2024 Campus Tour programme at UniSZA today.

The contribution was presented by Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil to Dr Fadzli who accepted the gifts on behalf of UniSZA.

The UMT was represented by the Dean of the Centre for Basic and Advanced Education, Prof Dr Asyraf Abdul Rahman while UMK was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies and Human Development, Associate Prof Dr Kamarulzaman Abd Ghani.

Also present were Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Bernama Editor-in-Chief who is also the HAWANA 2024 Project director, Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.

The HAWANA 2024 Campus Tour Programme with Eastern Zone involving more than 250 students including lecturers from UniSZA, UMT and UMK, was the last leg of the tour series for this year.

Terengganu was the last stop of the tour after Sarawak, Sabah, Central Zone, North Zone and South Zone with the involvement of 16 public universities and 2,000 students and lecturers.
