KUALA LUMPUR RECORDS 96.02 PCT PASS RATE IN 2025 UPSRA EXAMS

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur recorded a 96.02 percent overall pass rate for the 2025 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah Agama (UPSRA), an improvement of 1.63 percent compared to the previous year.

Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) deputy director of Operations, Kamaldin Mohd Damin, announced that 9,410 candidates from 215 registered institutions signed up for this year's examination.

He said of these, 9,327 candidates were present, while 83 were absent. This figure indicates an increase in participation compared to the 8,555 candidates in 2024.

“The overall Grade Point Average (GPA) was 1.86, an increase of 1.36 percent from last year. In terms of top achievers, 812 candidates, or 8.71 percent, obtained 9 Mumtaz (excellent), compared to 911 or 10.72 percent in 2024,” he said in a statement today.

Among the nine subjects, Project-Based Learning (PBS) achieved a perfect 100 percent pass rate, followed closely by Al-Quran and Hafazan at 99.97 percent and Tajwid at 98.15 percent.

Subjects such as Feqah, Tauhid, and Sirah also showed significant improvements, increasing by 5.25, 4.20 and 4.98 percent, respectively.

For its outstanding results, Sekolah Integrasi Rendah Agama JAWI (SIRAJ) Saidina Uthman bin Affan was named the Best Overall Islamic Education Institution.

The top student awards went to Muhammad Muadz Mohd Fathullah from SIRAJ Abdullah Ibnu Mas'ud as the best male student, and Ayesha Humairah Mohd Naseem from SRA Al-Furqan as the best female student.
