SHAH ALAM, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Four houses, a workshop, and three vehicles were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Meru, Klang, this afternoon.
Assistant Director of the Operations and Firefighting Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Selangor, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said however, the incident did not involve any casualties.
He said his department received a call regarding the incident at 1.39 pm.
Following that, 15 officers and personnel from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), assisted by BBP Klang Utara and BBP Bukit Jelutong, were dispatched to the location, he said.
"The operations commander reported that the fire involved four houses and an abandoned workshop. The fire also involved a Proton Waja car, a Perodua Myvi, and a Yamaha Ego motorcycle.
"The estimated destruction is 90 percent but there were no casualties. The fire was successfully controlled at 2.13 pm," he said in a statement, adding that the actual cause of the fire is still under investigation.
