KOTA KINABALU, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The Sabah government will begin a comprehensive restructuring process of government-linked companies (GLCs) in the state involving the appointment of chairmen and board members.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the move is an administrative necessity to strengthen corporate governance and accountability, as well as inject new leadership to improve performance and drive the achievement of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 goal.
“Our goal is to make GLCs an effective and reliable economic catalyst through competent management, in order to generate greater value for the people and the state,” he said in a statement today.
Hajiji also stressed the need for a dynamic, professional and results-oriented leadership team to steer the new era driven by strategic investment, digitalisation, new energy and social development.
"We appreciate the contributions of the previous leadership, but a reshuffle is necessary to ensure effective transformation and continuity.
"Our priority is only to ensure a stable, prosperous and secure future for Sabah in line with the aspirations of SMJ 2.0," he said.
