KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s leading bedding brand Getha has clinched the Ninth Brand of the Year Title at the 2024-2025 World Branding Awards, further cementing its position as a global leader in the bedding industry.
The prestigious event, held at the iconic Tower of London on Nov 25, saw Getha recognised in the Furniture -- Mattresses and Bedding category.
Notably, Getha is the sole Malaysian winner in its category to receive the National Tier Award this year.
“The National Tier accolade is reserved for brands that have demonstrated exceptional achievements within their home countries, becoming household names synonymous with trust and quality.
“As part of the rigorous selection process, the World Branding Forum conducted independent market research and assessed over 927 brands from 66 countries, with less than 100 ultimately declared winners,” said Getha in a statement.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Getha executive director Yong Mei Tsin expressed her pride in the company’s achievement.
“This award reflects Getha’s commitment towards innovation, quality, and sustainability in an ever-evolving market. It underscores our success in establishing strong brand recall and top-of-mind awareness among consumers, both in Malaysia and globally,” said Yong, who was accompanied to the event by project manager Kevin Tan.
The World Branding Awards celebrates the best in global branding and marketing. This year’s winners included internationally renowned names such as Spotify, BYD, Heinz and Yakult. Joining Getha in representing Malaysia on the winners’ list were Petronas, Farm Fresh, Mr. DIY and Munchy’s.
Previous winners of the award include industry giants such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Nike, Maybank, AirAsia and Tenaga Nasional.
Organised by the World Branding Forum, a UK-based non-profit organisation, the awards are regarded as one of the most comprehensive measures of brand strength and influence globally.
Founded in 1969, Getha has its roots in crafting 100 per cent natural latex bedding products and over the decades has built a reputation for excellence, exporting to more than 30 countries worldwide.
Its impressive production includes up to 121,000 mattresses annually, supported by the processing of latex sourced from 120 million rubber trees.
