POLICE INTENSIFY SEARCH FOR MAN MISSING SINCE FEB 18

27/02/2025 11:32 PM

GEORGE TOWN, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Police have intensified their search for a man who went missing on the way back from work at a hotel on Jalan Bukit Gambir here on Feb 18.

Timur Laut District deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake said Muhamad Syahir Ghazali, 30, was last seen leaving the hotel in his uniform but never returned to his staff dormitory.

"Police have recorded statements from his family and colleagues. There are no reports of any disputes or conflicts, so we have ruled out the possibility that he went missing due to a disagreement with family or friends.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest police station to assist in the search," he said when contacted today.

Yesterday, the media reported that Ghazali Ismail, 66, who lives in Kampung Tersusun Haji Tahir in Temoh, Perak, is very worried as his son had been missing for 10 days. He said his son works as a technician and stays in the staff accommodation provided by his employer.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that Muhamad Syahir did not take his mobile phone with him, making it difficult for his family to track him down.
