CYBERJAYA, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- MYNIC Bhd, an agency under the Digital Ministry, today signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with key industry organisations, strengthening its commitment to collaboration in enhancing Malaysia’s digital landscape and driving digital transformation across various sectors.

The key industry organisations include the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), CIDB E-Construct Services Sdn Bhd (CIDBEC), Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM).

MYNIC chief executive officer Datuk Hasnul Fadhly Hasan said the agency has been actively collaborating with various sectors to support their digital transformation efforts, enabling them to thrive locally and internationally.

“Each sector, such as the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) with its construction players and MAIWP focusing on the asnaf groups, has participants eager to embrace the online world and explore e-commerce opportunities.

“Our way, basically, because every sector like CIDB with construction, MAIWP with asnaf, all have their participants who want to enter (business) online or to do all this e-commerce so they can become locally and internationally known,” he told Bernama at the DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) forum here today.

Hasnul Fadhly said MYNIC steps in by training these participants on how to use the ".my" domain effectively and leverage the internet to expand their businesses and enhance visibility.

This initiative aims to create sustainable businesses that can contribute to the global digital economy.

“We have more. These are just some of the partners that we have, but actually, we have over 50 partners. We are adding more so that we can have many more partners and transform Malaysia together,” he said.

This ongoing collaboration reflects MYNIC's commitment to empowering local businesses and organisations to thrive in the digital landscape, ensuring Malaysia remains competitive in the global arena.

Meanwhile, today’s event was officiated by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, who emphasised the critical role of cybersecurity in the nation’s digital transformation.

In his keynote address, Gobind highlighted the importance of DNSSEC in safeguarding Malaysia’s digital infrastructure. He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to fostering a robust and trustworthy digital ecosystem through initiatives like the forum.

“DNSSEC is not just a technical enhancement but a necessity in our increasingly interconnected world. By securing the Domain Name System, we safeguard the integrity of online interactions, ensuring trust and reliability for both individuals and businesses,” he said.

He further noted that cybersecurity is a cornerstone of Malaysia’s digital future.

“Through forums like this, we are not only addressing current challenges but also building the foundation for a resilient digital economy that benefits all Malaysians,” he said.
