KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Affin Bank Bhd, Malayan Banking Bhd and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd have announced flood relief assistance programmes to assist individuals and enterprises affected by the floods.

In a statement today, CIMB said individual, small and medium enterprises (SME) and micro-SME customers who the floods have impacted, can apply for a six-month payment relief on loan and financing products to help alleviate their financial burden under the “CIMB Flood Relief Assistance Plan”.

“Additionally, late charges and fees for impacted customers will be waived.

“SME customers impacted by the floods and requiring additional cashflow assistance on top of the payment relief can apply for a Disaster Relief Facility of up to RM700,000 at a preferential financing rate,” it said.

CIMB said that through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, CIMB Foundation and CIMB Islamic have committed RM2.5 million to provide community assistance for flood victims as well as recovery support post-floods.

“CIMB Foundation will collaborate with non-governmental organisations to disburse RM2.5 million for on-ground flood relief efforts as well as recovery support post-floods,” it added.

Meanwhile, Maybank said its flood relief assistance is aimed at easing the financial burden of its customers.

“It is designed to address the challenges the flood victims are facing and will include, amongst others, deferment of financing/loan repayment, a reduction in monthly instalment or extension of repayment tenure,” it said in a statement.

Additionally, the bank also offers a waiver of fees and charges for selected services, such as replacement of debit cards, auto teller machine (ATM) cards or cheque books lost or damaged during the floods.

Maybank Group’s insurance arm, Etiqa, has implemented a quick and easy claim process for its insurance policyholders and takaful certificate holders, with no forms or supporting documents required.

Affin Bank has announced its Affin Natural Disaster Relief Programme (NDRP) to assist its flood-affected customers.

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the current floods have a devastating impact on the affected areas and local communities.

“To lessen our customers’ financial burden during this challenging time, Affin is offering financial relief on a variety of loans and financing products through the NDRP.

“We remain committed to supporting the communities we serve, providing timely assistance when it matters most,” he added.
