The elected representative for Bingkor, Datuk Mohd Ishak Ayub from Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), also took his oath of office today, even though STAR has previously stated it would not join the state government.  His appointment is understood to be in a personal capacity.

In the 17th Sabah State Election, GRS won 29 of the 73 seats, followed by Warisan (25), BN (6), Independents (5), UPKO (3), STAR (2), while Perikatan Nasional, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Malaysia and PH secured one seat each.
