PUTRAJAYA, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme, which concluded today, attracted nearly 400,000 visitors over three days, surpassing the initial target of 300,000.
Organised by the Prime Minister's Office through the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU), the national-scale event featured over 300 public services, a career carnival, interactive exhibitions, family entertainment, and various special offers that drew large crowds to Putrajaya.
Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the higher-than-expected turnout demonstrated strong public interest, further boosted by favourable weather.
He added that the programme successfully provided a platform for the government to deliver information directly to the public through exhibitions, information counters, and various service offerings.
“Insya-Allah, we will do it again next year... for the fourth anniversary,” he told Bernama here.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who officiated the closing ceremony, praised the programme for its extraordinary public reception.
He highlighted that the event allowed the public to assess the achievements of the MADANI government over three years while enjoying the government services being offered.
During the event, Anwar also launched two initiatives under the people’s development agenda: the Sahabat Penggerak MADANI Programme and the People’s Welfare Insurance Scheme (SIKR) 3.0, aimed at strengthening the social safety net and empowering communities at the grassroots level.
Sahabat Penggerak MADANI involves volunteers trained by the Malaysian Nationhood Academy (AKM) to promote national awareness, leadership and government policies at the grassroots level.
SIKR provides insurance protection for the poor and hardcore poor under the eKasih database.
The Rancakkan MADANI programme is a continuation of the One Year with the MADANI Government and the Two Years of MADANI Government programmes, which serve as the government’s annual platform for reporting its achievements directly to the people.
Noteworthy events included a helmet exchange programme by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), where 5,000 new, safety-standard helmets were available for exchange.
The Ukhuwah Rakyat MADANI segment, hosted by the Ministry of National Unity, was also a highlight. Visitors had the chance to learn traditional crafts such as making "tanjak" (Malay headgear) and tying the "samping" (traditional garment). Additionally, free gold cleaning services and digital portrait painting were offered.
The Visit Malaysia 2026 booth, managed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), attracted attention with its interactive activities, cultural demonstrations, and affordable travel package promotions.
Visitors also had the chance to participate in an interactive ASEAN summit simulation at the Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) exhibition, which provided insight into ASEAN decision-making, organisational structure, and key discussions.
The MADANI Career Carnival attracted young people and job seekers, featuring 30 employers offering over 5,000 job opportunities.
In addition, the Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) National Convention took place, bringing together public policy experts and industry professionals. The convention featured five separate forums on topics ranging from public service reform to poverty issues.
The launch of the ILTIZAM Circular and the Public Service Performance Index (I-PPA) by Shamsul Azri yesterday, is expected to drive improvements in performance-based governance across all government service delivery systems.
The Government Service Efficiency Commitment (ILTIZAM ) Act, which came into effect on Dec 1, is supported by the circular and aims to enhance efficiency and accountability in public service.
Meanwhile, the I-PPA serves as the official tool to measure, assess, and monitor the effectiveness of public service delivery as stipulated under Section 7(1) of the Act.
ILTIZAM’s implementation is in line with the National Policy on Good Regulatory Practices (NPGRP) and complements the Bureaucratic Red Tape Reform (RKB initiative which has already produced tangible results.
To date, 1,007 RKB projects have been registered nationwide, with 323 projects completed, an increase of 182 compared to previously, yielding annual compliance cost savings of over RM2.01 billion.
