KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- The hopes of national men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun to advance to the final of the Hylo Open were dashed after they lost to Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama–Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani today.
The result means there will be no Malaysian representatives in the Hylo Open final after Wei Chong-Kai Wun, the country’s sole semi-finalists in the Super 500 tournament, were eliminated.
In the match, the third-seeded Malaysian duo went down in straight sets 21-16, 21-15 in just 34 minutes.
The defeat marked their third loss in four encounters against the Indonesian pair, with their only victory coming at the Indonesia Open last year.
