KUALA NERUS, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) import striker Yann Mabella will return to France for knee treatment, according to Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB).
TFCSB chief executive officer Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed Al-Balraj said the 29-year-old player has been diagnosed with a chronic meniscus and medial collateral ligament injury that requires specialised treatment and close monitoring by an orthopaedic specialist.
He said TFCSB had granted him a period from yesterday until Jan 31 next year for treatment and recovery, before he returns to Terengganu on Feb 1 for assessment by the club’s medical team.
“Mabella has reached an agreement with the club regarding further treatment for his injury. He has agreed to all the conditions outlined in the legal documents.
“Based on the assessment and the need for specialised care, the club has allowed him to return to France to undergo treatment and monitoring by specialist doctors there,” he told Bernama today.
Sheikh Farouk said TFCSB always respects players’ need to receive the best possible treatment so that they can perform at an optimal level for the team.
He also called on the Turtles’ supporters to pray for the top scorer’s good health.
