Euromonitor International named Bangkok the world’s top tourism city in 2024 after it welcomed a record-breaking 32.4 million visitors. This figure far exceeds that of Istanbul, the second-ranked city, with 23 million foreign arrivals.

CAMBODIA
1. GOVT APPROVES RM4 BILLION FOREIGN INVESTMENTS IN NOVEMBER -- FRESH NEWS
Cambodia approved 43 projects worth RM4.1 billion (US$939 million) in November. It approved 40 new investment projects and three product expansion projects, which could create 39,000 jobs. Vietnam ranked the largest investor in November, while China was second.
2. TRAPPED MEKONG GIANT FISH RELEASED INTO HABITAT -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE
Authorities released a Mekong giant catfish weighing 132 kilogrammes and more than two meters long caught by fishermen. These threatened species live in the Tonle Sap Lake and the upper Mekong region and get trapped in fishing lines. Experts are studying the migration and habitat of the catfish during the dry season.
MYANMAR
1. HONEY EXPORTS RAKE IN RM5 MILLION FOR ECONOMY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
Myanmar has exported 786 metric tonnes of honey worth RM5.2 million in the past seven months. Its honey production is estimated to be over 4,000 metric tonnes annually, with 60 per cent of the total exported and the remainder sold in the domestic market.
2. RICE TRADERS TOLD NOT TO MANIPULATE PRICES -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
The Myanmar Rice Federation urges its members not to manipulate prices or quality during the harvest season of new paddy. It urged rice millers, wholesalers, retailers, depot owners, merchants and traders to follow the reference prices set by the authorities.

1. NOVEMBER WELCOMES 1.7 MILLION TOURISTS -- VIETNAM NEWS
About 1.7 million international tourists arrived in the country during November - the highest monthly total for 2024. Vietnam targets to welcome about 18 million tourists this year and foreign arrivals in the first 11 months reached over 15.8 million.
2. FOREIGN INVESTMENTS TOUCH RM139 BILLION -- VIETNAMPLUS
Vietnam attracted RM139 billion (US$31.4 billion) in foreign direct investment in the past 11 months. November registered RM18 billion (US$4.12 billion) - mainly in the processing and manufacturing industry and real estate. Singapore, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Japan were leading investors.
