CAMBODIA 


1.CAMBODIA-JAPAN SIGN RM32 MILLION LOAN DEAL - - FRESH NEWS 

Cambodia and Japan signed an agreement to extend grant aid worth about RM32 million (US$7.2 million). The grant is to implement the economic and social development programme. The aid also reflects Japan’s continuous support for the Kingdom. 


2. MINISTRY IDENTIFIES 10 HIGH EXPORT AGRI PRODUCTS - - FRESH NEWS 

The Ministry of Commerce has identified 10 agricultural products with high export potential. They include rice, cashew nuts, pepper, mangoes, yellow bananas, cassava, longan, honey, salt and coconuts. Some of the items are geographical indication (GI) registered products. 


LAOS


1. BEERLAO MAKES HISTORY WITH 10 MILLION LITRES EXPORTS — VIENTIANE TIMES

Beerlao registered a milestone in October this year after exporting 10 million litres of the popular local brand, earning RM44.2 million (US$10 million) in export revenues. Beerlao is popular in more than 16 countries and is backed by 22 distributors worldwide.


2. INDONESIA SUPPORTS LAOS IN AUDITING FIELD - - VIENTIANE TIMES

Indonesia will share its auditing expertise with Laos through a new partnership between the two state agencies. Topics included will cover annual budget preparation, audit quality control, and management of local budget audits.


MYANMAR


1. GOVT-ICRC REVIEW DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The government held discussions with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Myanmar on disaster risk management, education on the risk of landmines, rehabilitation support for landmine victims, and ICRC’s prosthetic and orthotic services for landmine victims.


2. ASEAN PROJECT DEVELOPMENT TRAINING FOR CITIZENS - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, along with the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community and the Office of the ASEAN Secretary-General, has jointly launched the ASEAN Project Development Training program for Myanmar. Participants will learn how to create viable project proposals that align with ASEAN’s goals.


VIETNAM


1. VIETNAM NEWS-YONHAP FIRM UP MEDIA RELATIONS - - VIETNAMPLUS

Vietnam News Agency and South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency agreed to cooperate in the media sector. Both agencies pledged to share expertise to compete in the fast-paced changing global media driven by modern technologies, and the use of robotics and artificial intelligence. 


2. HO CHI MINH EXPO CENTRE CONSTRUCTION BACK ON TRACK - - VIETNAM EXPRESS

Construction of the RM146 million (US$33 million) Ho Chi Minh City Planning Exhibition Center stalled for years has resumed. Launched in 2013 and earmarked for completion in 2015, the project stopped in 2019 due to disputes over material quality between the builders.
