02/12/2025 12:47 PM

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 2 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- US consumers spent a record US$11.8 billion online on Black Friday, up from US$10.8 billion a year ago, according to data from Adobe Analytics, reported Xinhua.

The platform projects that Cyber Monday on Dec 1 will see even higher online spending, reaching US$14.2 billion.

For the holiday season from Nov 1 to Dec 31, it also forecasts a total online spending of US$253.4 billion this year, compared with US$241.1 billion in 2024.

Salesforce, a US cloud-based software company, reported that global Black Friday spending reached US$79 billion, including US$18 billion in the United States, marking year-over-year increases of 6 per cent and 3 per cent, respectively.

According to Salesforce data, prices rose an average of 7 per cent, while order volumes declined by 1 per cent, suggesting that the overall growth was driven more by price increases than by stronger consumer demand.
