KOTA KINABALU, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Customers at the Kota Kinabalu General Post Office were thrilled to discover a new convenience store now open on the premises, allowing them to shop while they waited for their turn at the counter.
Civil servant Rohana Karim, 39, said the introduction of Pos Shop helped ease the boredom of waiting for her number to be called, as she could now buy food and drinks without leaving the post office.
Hailing from Tuaran, she was excited to see the new addition when she arrived at the post office this morning for her transactions.
“I was amazed because now, while I wait for my turn, I can grab a drink or a snack,” she told reporters.
Pos Malaysia Berhad today launched its first Pos Shop in Sabah, officiated by Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe on behalf of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
The event was also attended by Pos Malaysia Berhad chief executive officer Charles Brewer.
Private sector employee Masri Tahir, 55, said the Pos Shop was a welcome addition, especially for customers dealing with time-consuming transactions.
Meanwhile, Mohd Tahir Suhod, 64, lauded Pos Malaysia’s initiative, describing it as a step forward in enhancing customer comfort.
“Waiting for up to 30 minutes feels much less tedious now, as I can relax and grab some refreshments,” he said, adding that he was looking forward to trying the menu offered.
The Pos Shop operates daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
