BERA, March 16 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government has introduced a new voucher initiative to help those in need purchase food and essentials at selected supermarkets.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the RM50 voucher would be distributed through local leaders, who would allocate them to eligible recipients.
The vouchers can be redeemed at TMG Mart and Pasaraya Darul Makmur outlets statewide.
“This initiative aims to support the people. There is no fixed allocation yet as this is still in the trial phase. We will first observe public response (before making further decisions),” he said.
He was speaking to reporters after officiating at the Bera-level Moh Karnival Makmur 2025 at Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Sebertak near Kemayan here yesterday.
For the first time, the Moh Karnival Makmur is being held alongside the Pahang Land Carnival to provide the public with direct access to government agencies and land-related services.
Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy said the state government is continuing its RM50 fuel voucher programme this year for 5,000 Pahang residents living outside the state, with a total allocation of RM250,000.
“We started this programme last year. This time, 5,000 vouchers will be given to Pahang natives returning home for the festive season as a token of appreciation from the state government,” he added.
