LIPIS, March 20 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government has allocated more than RM1.76 million to appreciate the services of Al-Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) class teachers, imams, bilals, siaks, and takmir teachers across the state.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the contribution was aimed at easing the financial burden of these groups ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

He said that this year, 2,650 KAFA teachers in the state would each receive RM300, involving a total allocation of RM795,000.

“In appreciation of the services of the KAFA supervisors appointed by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) in Pahang, we are providing RM500 each to 39 supervisors, involving a total allocation of RM19,500,” he told reporterstoday.

He said this after a ceremony to announce the 2024 Pahang State-level Quran and Fardu Ain Class Assessment Test (UPKK) and the presentation of the state government’s contribution to religious officers in Pahang at Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Padang Tengku here.

According to Wan Rosdy, 1,187 imam and 525 takmir teachers would receive RM300 each, while RM200 would be given to 1,087 bilal and 1,081 siak.

In the meantime, he congratulated everyone involved, including the Pahang Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAIP), school administrators, teachers, and KAFA students, on the impressive state UPKK results.

Wan Rosdy said that a total of 15,945 students sat for the UPKK last year, with 93.81 per cent passing, marking an increase of 2.81 per cent compared to 2023.

“A total of 1,636 candidates, or 10.37 per cent, achieved 9As, while 1,453 candidates, or 9.21 percent, obtained 8As,” he said.

Earlier, Wan Rosdy also announced that the Pahang Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPP) had allocated RM606,200 for Aidilfitri assistance to seven social programmes, benefiting 866 participants.

“Each participant will receive RM700 in assistance, and from the total allocation, RM271,600 has been allocated for those in the Lipis district alone,” he said at the PKPP Aidilfitri Contribution Presentation Ceremony for 2025 at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah here.
