STRENGTHENING BONDS: DIPLOMATS SHARE HARI RAYA WISHES WITH MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- Foreign diplomats in Kuala Lumpur have joined Malaysians in celebrating the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, extending heartfelt greetings and well-wishes through exclusive video messages to Bernama International News Service.

From festive reflections on unity and friendship to warm wishes for peace and prosperity, diplomats from Australia, Bahrain, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Indonesia, Singapore, and beyond expressed their joy in sharing this special occasion with Malaysians.

Some even embraced the cultural spirit, donning traditional attire in their messages.

Their collective sentiments showed the universal values of harmony and togetherness that define Aidilfitri, while also strengthening diplomatic bonds between Malaysia and its international partners.

Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Danielle Heinecke, wished Malaysians peace and happiness this Aidilfitri.

"Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. On behalf of the Australian High Commission, I’d like to wish all Malaysians a joyful celebration. May this Raya bring peace, unity, and happiness to you and your loved ones," she said.

The Ambassador of Bahrain to Malaysia, Dr Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, conveyed his greetings to the country’s leadership and people, hoping the festive season would bring continued prosperity.

"I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Government, and the people of Malaysia on the occasion of Hari Raya Aidilfitri," he said.

"May this festive season bring peace, prosperity, and continued progress to Malaysia."

Adding a pop of festive spirit, Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia, Shikata Noriyuki, appeared clad in an orange baju Melayu and sampin.

"Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes to all Malaysians celebrating this festive season. May this joyous occasion bring happiness, health, and prosperity to you and your loved ones," he said.

Kazakhstan Ambassador to Malaysia, Bulat Sugurbaev expressed hopes for peace and harmony.

"On behalf of the Embassy of Kazakhstan, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Government, and the people of Malaysia. May this blessed celebration bring peace, joy, and harmony to all," he said.

South African Charge d’Affaires, Jabulisile Msibi, shared her greetings alongside Indonesian Ambassador Hermono to Malaysia from her office backdrop.

"On behalf of the Government and the people of South Africa, I would like to wish the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Government, and the people of Malaysia a blessed and joyous Hari Raya Aidilfitri. May this special occasion bring you peace, prosperity, and happiness," she said.

Ambassador Hermono, meanwhile, took the opportunity to reflect on the strong bond between Indonesia and Malaysia.

"On behalf of the Embassy of Indonesia and the Indonesian community in Malaysia, I would like to wish Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin, to all Malaysian brothers and sisters. This celebration is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen and deepen the bond of friendship between Indonesia and Malaysia," he said.

Singapore High Commissioner to Malaysia, Vanu Gopala Menon, who donned a Batik shirt, noted the occasion’s significance as both nations celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations.

"Hari Raya is a special occasion to renew and strengthen ties with family and friends as we commemorate the 60th anniversary of Singapore-Malaysia diplomatic relations. Let us also use this opportunity to celebrate the enduring friendship between our two countries," he said.

Other Malaysian diplomats abroad also shared in the festive spirit.

Malaysian Charge d’Affaires to Thailand, Bong Yik Jui, and Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore, Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, featured alongside their respective teams in cheerful 15-second video greetings, set to a trending Aidilfitri song that added a youthful and vibrant touch.

The envoys, through their messages, echoed a common hope -- that this Hari Raya brings joy, harmony, and strengthened ties among Malaysians and with friends around the world.
