US DOLLAR TICKS UP

NEW YORK, April 5 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar climbed in late trading on Friday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased by 0.93 per cent to 103.024 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro lost to US$1.0943 from US$1.1037 in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to US$1.2881 from US$1.3095 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 146.91 Japanese yen, higher than 146.43 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar was down to 0.8606 Swiss francs from 0.8611 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.4238 Canadian dollars from 1.4084 Canadian dollars. The US dollar rose to 10.0390 Swedish kronor from 9.7865 Swedish kronor.
