NEW DELHI, April 5 (Bernama) -- About 250 people, including ASEAN diplomats, members of the Malaysian community and Indian guests, attended the Hari Raya Aidilfitri "Rumah Terbuka" (open house) at the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi on Saturday.

The celebration represents Malaysia's spirit of togetherness and the deeply-rooted tradition of inclusiveness and harmony, Malaysian High Commissioner Datuk Muzafar Shah Mustafa told the guests.

An array of popular Malaysian dishes were prepared for the occasion along with several local food items.

The event celebrates the end of the holy month of Ramadan and strengthens the bonds of friendship, Muzafar said.

"To our fellow Malaysians in India, thank you for continuing to carry the Malaysian spirit with pride and resilience abroad. To our international friends and partners, we deeply value your friendship and collaboration," he said.

High Commission staff and their families, members of the local Indian community, representatives of Malaysian companies operating in India and diplomats of various countries were present.

The open house was held in the diplomatic mission's multipurpose hall decorated in a Malaysian Aidilfitri theme, including a model of a kampung house.
