SULTAN MIZAN PAYS LAST RESPECTS TO PAK LAH

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, graciously paid his final respects to former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the National Mosque here today.

His Royal Highness arrived at 11.39 am, accompanied by his son, Tengku Setia Mahkota Raja Tengku Muhammad Mud’az.

They were received at the entrance of the mosque’s main prayer hall by Tun Abdullah’s son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin.

Also present at the mosque to pay their last respects to the statesman were Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman and Melaka Governor Tun Dr. Mohd Ali Rustam.

The lying-in-state also drew the presence of several national and international leaders who came to honour the legacy of Malaysia’s 5th Prime Minister.

Among them was Singapore’s Senior Minister and former Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong.

Tun Abdullah will be laid to rest with full state funeral honours at the Heroes’ Mausoleum near the National Mosque after Zohor prayers today. He passed away peacefully at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 7.10 pm yesterday.
