PUTRAJAYA, May 7 (Bernama) -- Batik Air has announced the cancellation of its flights to and from Lahore, Pakistan and Amritsar, India for today and tomorrow, following the ongoing situation between both countries.
The affected flights are as follows :
Lahore (LHE)
- KUL-LHE (OD 131), May 7 and 8, departure 5.35 pm
- LHE-KUL (OD 132), May 7 and 8, departure 9.35pm
AMRITSAR (ATQ)
- KUL-ATQ (OD 271), May 7, departure 6.40 pm
- ATQ-KUL (OD 272), May 7, departure 11.05 pm
In a statement today, Batik Air said the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew remain its highest priority.
“Batik Air is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with relevant authorities and will provide timely updates as new information becomes available. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding,” it added.
Rising tensions between the two neighbours since last month escalated early Wednesday with both sides reportedly launching cross-border airstrikes.
Exchange of artillery fire between Indian and Pakistani forces were also reported along the Line of Control, which divides the Kashmir region between the two countries.
