TAWAU, May 8 (Bernama) -- The Media Centre for the 2025 MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) Sabah will officially open tomorrow to facilitate press coverage of the three-day government outreach event at the Tawau Municipal Council Square from May 9 to 11.
According to the Head of Corporate Communications at the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), Hartini Hashim, the media centre will be equipped with internet access and comfortable workspaces, operating daily from 9 am to 9 pm throughout the programme.
“Media personnel can register at the centre to obtain the special media pass for the programme and utilise all the available facilities.
“We’ve created a conducive work environment complete with internet connectivity and basic amenities to ensure media representatives can carry out their duties efficiently,” she told Bernama here today.
PMR is a government initiative spearheaded by the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) in collaboration with KUSKOP as the lead ministry, and the Sabah Government as host, to bring essential government services directly to the people.
Themed “Ending Poverty Through Entrepreneurship”, the Sabah edition of PMR 2025 underscores the government’s sustainable approach to eradicating hardcore poverty by empowering local communities through entrepreneurship.
Hartini noted that accredited media personnel holding a Media Accreditation Card from the Department of Information Malaysia may use it to access and report within the event grounds.
“We warmly welcome members of the media to cover this important programme, which serves as a vital platform for the government to engage with the public and share key information,” she said.
She also advised media representatives to maintain cleanliness within the media centre for the comfort of all users.
For further inquiries related to media facilities, Hartini can be contacted at 012-930 7504 or Dr Diana Dominic at 019-851 6868, both of whom will be on-site throughout the event.
