KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 (Bernama) -- Local favourites US Pizza and My US Coffee Sdn Bhd’s Iboozee Fresh Juice Vending Machine have entered the ASEAN Records for their respective innovations.
US Pizza was recognised for offering the most localised pizza flavours in ASEAN, with 88 varieties tailored to Malaysian taste buds, while Iboozee was honoured for introducing the first halal-certified fruit juice through automated vending machines in Malaysia.
The recognition ceremony was held in conjunction with the Franchise International Malaysia (FIM 2025) exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today and was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
US Pizza Group chief operating officer Deric Yeo said the awards reflect the company’s strength in localising and innovating for the regional market.
“We are very proud because this recognition spans all ASEAN countries. Competing with larger regional players, our ability to localise and innovate truly sets us apart,” he told Bernama.
Yeo said the company’s new kiosk concept, priced at RM300,000, offers an accessible entry point for investors, alongside a range of vending, coffee and juice machines under the Iboozee brand.
“We are targeting 40 to 50 new outlets this year. In the first quarter, we opened five outlets and have another five under construction. We expect to reach our goal by year-end,” he said.
He added that about 200 potential locations have been identified nationwide for Iboozee vending machines, each dispensing freshly squeezed, no-sugar-added juice made from three to four whole fruits.
To lower the investment barrier, US Pizza is offering a 50 per cent franchise set-up subsidy, covering renovation and equipment, for franchisees who sign up during the three-day expo.
“Even enquiries via our expo QR code after the show will receive the same privileges,” Yeo said.
US Pizza will also introduce two Malaysian-inspired pizzas by mid-May — Nyonya Fish Pizza and Ayam Penyet Best Sambal Pizza — in collaboration with Ayam Penyet Best. The menu will expand to include breakfast items and late-night delivery until 2 am at selected outlets.
Following the ASEAN Records recognition, Zahid also officiated at the launch of Iboozee — Malaysia’s first halal-certified fresh fruit juice automated vending machine.
The ceremony featured a plaque signing and presentation of the official halal certificate by a representative from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
Developed by My US Coffee Sdn Bhd, the Iboozee machine offers a combination of health, convenience and religious compliance by serving certified halal fresh juices through a fully automated system.
