PUTRAJAYA, May 9 (Bernama) -- The programme for the handover of traditional costumes and cultural art products, implemented by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), adds value to the country's efforts in introducing and promoting the country's cultural elements through a network of diplomatic representative offices abroad.
In a statement regarding the handover ceremony to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, MOTAC said that the programme is in line with the national cultural diplomacy policy aimed at building international understanding, strengthening strategic cooperation, and enhancing Malaysia's image as a high-culture, harmonious, and progressive nation on the international stage.
"This programme reflects MOTAC's continuous commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations through a holistic cultural approach that encompasses various layers of society," said the statement.
MOTAC will continue to intensify efforts to expand the reach of cultural diplomacy as part of the national agenda to elevate Malaysia's cultural heritage, according to the statement.
"In line with the principle of inclusivity that is the core of Malaysia MADANI, this close cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Ministry is hoped to strengthen the implementation of soft diplomacy and enhance bilateral relations through the strength and uniqueness of the Malaysian culture and global community that reflects unity in diversity," said MOTAC.
