ASIAN CUP SEPAK TAKRAW: MALAYSIA BEAT BRUNEI 2-0 TO FACE VIETNAM IN SEMIFINAL TOMORROW

KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) -- The national regu lived up to expectations by advancing to the semifinals after defeating Brunei 2-0 in a quarterfinal match of the 2025 Asian Sepak Takraw Championship at the Titiwangsa Stadium tonight.

The advance of the squad coached by Ahmad Mohd Zain will see Malaysia face Vietnam after the latter overcame Indonesia 2-1 in another quarterfinal match that also took place at the same venue.

Earlier, Muhammad Haziq Hairul Nizam (tekong), Farhan Adam (feeder), and Mohamad Azlan Alias (killer) had no issues maintaining their winning momentum as Group A champions this morning to secure the first set 15-7.

Mohammad Syahir Rosdi was brought in to replace Muhammad Haziq, injecting team spirit and helping to close out the victory with a 15-4 score.

Meanwhile, in two other quarterfinal matches played at the same venue, India beat the Philippines beat 2-1 while Thailand defeated Japan 2-0 respectively to earn their slots in tomorrow’s semifinals.
