ANKARA, May 17 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The 34th Arab League Summit opened on Saturday in Baghdad, marking the fourth time Iraq is hosting the event and the first since 2012, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.
The summit is taking place amid heightened tensions and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stemming from Israel’s ongoing military offensive since October 2023.
Leaders from 22 Arab nations have gathered in the Iraqi capital to deliberate on pressing regional issues.
Discussions are also expected to cover conflicts in Yemen, Sudan, Syria and Libya, as well as the ongoing negotiations over the Iran-US nuclear deal.
