JMKU Programme Offers 30 Pct Savings On Basic Necessities - Mohamad Alamin

KIMANIS, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Cooperative and Entrepreneur Sales (JMKU) programme, offering savings on the prices of basic goods of up to 30 per cent lower than market prices, has become a catalyst for local entrepreneurs to expand their markets.

Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin said that through the sales, it is also part of the ongoing efforts of the MADANI Government to help ease the cost of living for the people and to empower the local entrepreneurship and cooperative ecosystem.

“This initiative directly benefits the local community, especially in preparing for the upcoming month of Ramadan," he said to reporters during the inauguration ceremony of the new building of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan Kimanis here today.

The new building was constructed through the contributions and efforts of Mohamad during his previous tenure as Deputy Education Minister.

Mohamad said the programme, organised by the Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM), not only focuses on reducing the cost of living but also manifests the government's concern to ensure that rural communities are not burdened by rising prices, especially ahead of the festive season.

Mohamad , who is the Kimanis Member of Parliament, said that JMKU was also joined by agencies under KUSKOP, namely Bank Rakyat, which also provided a special contribution of RM30,600 to 204 students from the asnaf and B40 groups as a sign of support for the community welfare agenda.

Meanwhile, TEKUN Nasional also opened an exhibition booth to provide information, advisory services, and initial eligibility checks for financing to visitors.

Entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs who are interested also have the opportunity to join the TEKUN Financing Scheme, specifically the Ramadan People's Business Financing Scheme (BARAKAT).

The scheme was introduced in conjunction with Ramadan and Aidilfitri to assist with business capital preparations, and the application period for the scheme, which opened on Feb 1, ends on March 15.
