Tune Protect Introduces Delay Lounge Pass For Airasia Travel Insurance Customers

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- Tune Protect Group Bhd has launched the Delay Lounge Pass, offering access to over 1,500 airport lounges worldwide when flights are delayed by two hours or more, a perk available across AirAsia’s extensive global network.

In a statement, the insurance company said the Delay Lounge Pass is exclusively available to customers who purchase or opt for one of the AirAsia Travel Insurance plans, which include the Value Pack, Premium Flex, and AirAsia Plus 2 for flights departing from or arriving in Malaysia and Thailand.

Tune Protect highlighted that the Delay Lounge Pass transforms the experience of flight delays by providing access to airport lounges equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, and facilities such as spa treatments and discounts at bars and restaurants.

“This new feature goes beyond the usual travel insurance benefits offered to AirAsia guests, elevating their worry-free travel experience.

“Apart from monetary compensation for delayed flights, which is part of the AirAsia Travel Insurance coverage, customers can now enjoy the ease and comfort of airport lounges to make the most of their waiting time,” it said.

Chief executive officer How Kim Lian noted that travel delays are unsolicited, and often challenging,  particularly when travelling with large families or managing tight schedules during peak travel seasons such as the upcoming year-end and school holidays.

“This latest initiative underscores Tune Protect’s commitment to delivering innovative and customer-centric solutions for travellers.

"The experiential propositions of our travel insurance aim to elevate customers’ travel experiences. Providing airport lounge access is the first step toward achieving our aspiration to become a relevant player in the regional travel ecosystem,” How said.

The company also shared that if customers do not use the Delay Lounge Pass voucher for a delayed flight, it remains valid for one-time use within 30 days at any of the 1,500 lounges worldwide.

The voucher, it said is uniquely assigned to registered travellers and is non-transferable and customers purchasing any of the AirAsia Travel Insurance plans for their travel companions must ensure that each guest is accurately registered for a seamless experience.

In addition to the Delay Lounge Pass, Tune Protect has enhanced its AirAsia Travel Insurance plans by introducing TravelFlex Lite, a flexible cancellation benefit due to unforeseen circumstances.

"TravelFlex Lite benefit reimburses up to RM500 for flight ticket costs if customers cannot travel.

"Other key features of the AirAsia Travel Insurance plans are the On-Time Guarantee, which provides RM100 compensation for a two-hour delay, and Baggage Delay, which reimburses RM120 for every six-hour delay, up to RM360," it added.
