KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) -- Islamic banks in Malaysia are extending financial assistance to victims of the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire in Selangor.
In a statement today, the Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) said tailored financial relief is being offered to support victims and their families, many of whom suffered multiple injuries.
“Affected customers are encouraged to reach out to their respective banks to learn more about the available support, which reflects the Islamic finance principle of justice, empathy, and community welfare,” AIBIM said.
AIBIM executive director Ratna Sha’erah Kamaludin expressed solidarity with those affected by the incident, which impacted the local community significantly.
“Our hearts go out to victims of the Putra Heights incident. We want them to know that Islamic banks are here to help during this difficult time,” she said.
