KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) -- Quantum Motion has appointed Hugo Saleh as its new President and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to capitalise on the growing market demand for quantum computing.
Saleh, with over 25 years of leadership experience in global and scale-up technology firms, will oversee the company’s global expansion, build its commercial business, and facilitate customers in deploying utility-scale quantum machines.
The appointment coincides with Quantum Motion’s incorporation in the United States, complementing its recent office openings in Australia and Europe.
Quantum Motion Chief Executive Officer, James Palles-Dimmock said Saleh’s experience at industry leaders such as Google and Intel would accelerate the company’s commercialisation efforts.
“His deep commercial expertise and proven capability in scaling technology businesses will significantly drive our global expansion. We are thrilled to have him onboard as we expand our international presence and drive quantum computing’s impact across critical industries,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Saleh shared his excitement about joining Quantum Motion at a pivotal time in the quantum computing industry.
He noted that the rising demand for high-end computing, especially in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications, is creating the need for a new shift in the computing industry. He believes Quantum Motion’s innovative silicon spin qubit approach will meet this demand for large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computing, capitalising on the massive investment in the semiconductor industry.
Saleh's appointment will also help the company leverage its innovations in quantum hardware, system design, software, and cryoelectronics to form key industry partnerships.
The announcement follows a series of milestones by Quantum Motion, underscoring its silicon-based approach as the fastest, most cost-effective, and scalable method to produce the millions of qubits required for fault-tolerant quantum computers.
Saleh previously served as Head of HPC and Director of Product at Google and held leadership roles at Ayar Labs and Intel Corporation, where he was involved in data centre and silicon design operations.
