KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd reported a 12.6 per cent drop in net profit to RM370.61 million for the financial year ended Feb 28, 2025 (FY2025) from RM424.01 million in FY2024.
Revenue however rose by 15.1 per cent to RM2.20 billion against RM1.91 billion previously, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
This was due to the increase in total transaction and financing volume for the financial year-to-date, which grew by 15.3 per cent to RM8.41 billion compared with the corresponding preceding year, it added.
For the fourth quarter ended Feb 28, 2025 (4Q FY2025), net profit increased by 10.1 per cent to RM130.97 million versus RM118.92 million in 4Q FY2024, which ended on Feb 29, 2024.
Revenue improved by 14.6 per cent to RM575.04 million from RM501.57 million in the same quarter a year ago, mainly attributable to stronger loan and financing growth.
On prospects, the group said that it maintains a cautious business stance due to the ongoing global trade and tariff policy uncertainties, prevailing geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures, and volatility in global financial markets.
The company will continue to remain prudent, placing emphasis on growing quality asset and closely monitoring the inherent credit risks in its financing portfolios.
"The group will also continuously enhance its information technology capabilities to improve operational efficiencies, while establishing an ecosystem through the AEON Group of Companies operating in Malaysia (AEON Living Zone) to expand its customer reach,” it said.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, AEON Credit expects to be able to maintain its business momentum by implementing the appropriate measures for FY2026.
In a separate filing, the company announced a final single-tier dividend of 14.50 sen per ordinary share for FY2025, payable on July 24, 2025.
