KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) -- CIMB Bank Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd (CIMB) have introduced Malaysia’s first transport-related debit card benefits via the CIMB Visa Debit Card.
In a statement today, CIMB Group said users would enjoy a 20 per cent cash back on local and overseas tolls and transit-related activity as well as a 30 per cent discount for KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit travels.
“The 20 per cent cash back can be enjoyed on Malaysian public transport such as passenger railways including KTM, MRT and LRT, and also applicable across Malaysia for taxis, e-hailing services such as Grab and bus transportation through EasyBook and Redbus, amongst others.
“Many highway tolls, including DUKE, KESAS, LDP and LEKAS, as well as bridge toll fees, including both Penang Bridges, the Johor-Singapore Causeway and Malaysia-Singapore Second Link, are eligible, together with other types of transportation services such as Langkawi Cable Car,” it said.
CIMB Group said that the 20 per cent cash back campaign also extends to overseas use for various transportation options such as public transport, taxis, e-hailing, railways and bus lines including Gojek, Uber, Eurostar, JR Railway, as well as tolls and bridges in selected locations.
CIMB chief executive officer Gurdip Singh Sidhu said the campaign encouraged greater usage of debit cards within the increasingly wide range of payment options available across Malaysia and the region’s transportation network.
“Helping our customers stretch their Ringgit further is an example of how we bring to life CIMB’s purpose of advancing customers and society” he added.
The CIMB Visa Debit Card 20 per cent cash back campaign will run until Dec 31, 2025, while The CIMB Visa Debit Card 30 per cent discount for KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit will run until Aug 31, 2025.
