KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Solarvest Holdings Bhd, HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd, and Shizen Malaysia Sdn Bhd have formed a renewable energy (RE) partnership to undertake a 29.99MWac solar photovoltaic facility located in Gurun, Kedah with an investment of RM142 million.
The three parties have formed SM01 Sdn Bhd, under the Corporate Green Power Programme initiative, wherein Shizen Malaysia will own a 49 per cent stake, Solarvest Asset Management Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Solarvest Holdings (33 per cent), and HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd (18 per cent).
The partnership, which was announced yesterday at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, was facilitated by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) under the Government's Green Investment initiative, demonstrating Malaysia's commitment to fostering international collaboration in sustainable energy development.
MIDA deputy chief executive officer of Investment Promotion and Facilitation Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja said the partnership exemplifies Malaysia's commitment to sustainable development and its position as a prime destination for green investments in the region.
“The SM01 project aligns perfectly with our National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), demonstrating how international collaboration can accelerate our journey towards a low-carbon future,” he said in a statement today.
He also emphasised that MIDA remains dedicated to facilitating such high-impact green initiatives that not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also drive economic growth and technological advancement in Malaysia's renewable energy sector.
Meanwhile, the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka with the theme, “Weaving a Future in Harmony”, serves as a platform to showcase the country’s inclusive, innovative, and sustainable vision, while promoting its position as a regional hub and premier destination for trade and investment, especially in high-growth sectors such as sustainable green technology.
This initiative reinforces the nation’s image as a competitive and future-ready investment destination on the global stage.
