KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The 25th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-25) will take place from Oct 15–17, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Hosted by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) and organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), the forum is themed “Powering ASEAN: Bridging Boundaries, Building Prosperity”.
The event is poised to be the most consequential energy dialogue in the region’s history.
AEBF-25 chairman Dr Andy Tirta said the event highlights that with the energy demand surges and climate urgency growing, the region is moving from dialogue to decisive action.
“This is where AEBF-25 serves as the platform to accommodate the dialogue and has been at the heart of ASEAN’s energy collaboration,” he said in a statement today.
During the event, AEBF-25 will highlight Malaysia’s chairmanship of energy achievement, which includes an enhanced memorandum of understanding (MoU) of ASEAN Power Grid (APG) and ASEAN Petroleum Security Agreement (APSA).
It also includes the launch of the new cycle of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2026-2030.
“This is also a platform for enhancing public-private sector engagement (PPE). In conjunction with the 43rd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM), AEBF-25 serves as the platform to connect the government with private and other energy stakeholders to achieve the regional targets.
“This is the only platform that could gather all 10 ASEAN energy ministers in one place and other dialogue partners from outside ASEAN. This attracts other energy stakeholders to gather and share best practices,” said the statement.
Meanwhile, ACE executive director Datuk Razib Dawiid said the forum brings together the greatest minds in energy, from ASEAN and beyond, to ensure that energy transition is not only sustainable but also just and inclusive.
“AEBF, as the international conference and exhibition, will embody that unity as a forum that enables exchange, collaboration, and investment in support of ASEAN’s energy aspirations,” he said.
