GEESATCOM Completes Phase I: China’s Satellite IoT Network Goes Global

29/09/2025 04:16 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- In a landmark achievement, GEESATCOM successfully launched its sixth orbital plane on Sept 24, deploying 12 satellites in one go — its third consecutive launch in just two months.

According to a statement, with 64 satellites now in orbit, Phase I of the global satellite Internet of Things (IoT) constellation is officially complete.

The network delivers real-time coverage worldwide, excluding the poles, providing one to two satellite layers between 60 degrees north–south latitude. It supports a staggering 340 million daily communications and currently serves 20 million users.

Entirely self-developed by Geespace, GEESATCOM integrates everything from satellite design to user terminals. The system boasts cutting-edge anti-interference algorithms with 50 decibels capability, high reliability, and costs just one per cent of traditional satellite communication systems.

Commercial validation is well underway. In China, major players like China Unicom, Zoomlion, and Geely Auto are already leveraging the network in smart mobility, logistics, and marine industries. Internationally, the system has proven successful in more than 20 countries, with communication success rates above 99 per cent.

A joint venture with Malaysia’s ALTEL, formed earlier in April this year, signals deeper regional expansion. The partnership, backed by top Malaysian officials, aims to roll out localised satellite IoT services for smart cities, agriculture, and energy.

From intelligent vehicles to low-altitude mobility and emergency response, GEESATCOM is now powering real-world applications across sectors. With global coverage now operational, Geespace positions itself as a frontrunner in next-generation industrial IoT infrastructure.
