OMRON Healthcare Blood Pressure Monitor Sales Surpass 400 Million Units Globally 

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- OMRON Healthcare Co Ltd, a global leader in preventive healthcare equipment, has announced that cumulative worldwide sales of its blood pressure monitors (BPMs) have exceeded 400 million units.

The achievement reflects its longstanding commitment to advancing home blood pressure monitoring and preventive cardiovascular care to help extend healthy life expectancy.

The company’s products are now distributed in more than 130 countries and regions, providing cost-effective monitoring solutions in emerging markets where preventive healthcare resources remain limited. This, it added, supports early detection and intervention for communities most at risk of hypertension and related conditions.

OMRON Healthcare President and Chief Executive Officer, Ayumu Okada in a statement said the milestone reflects the trust of millions of users and recognition by healthcare professionals worldwide.

“We remain dedicated to our ‘Going for ZERO’ vision, aiming to eradicate cerebro-cardiovascular events globally by developing technologies that connect daily life and healthcare,” Okada said.

OMRON continues to advance innovations in preventive care, including Bluetooth-enabled devices that integrate with the OMRON connect app for trend tracking and physician oversight, and its Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared Intellisense AFib technology that detects atrial fibrillation during routine monitoring.

Other innovations include Complete monitors that combine blood pressure and ECG readings, as well as expanded remote monitoring capabilities through the acquisition of subsidiary Luscii and new strategic partnerships.

OMRON launched its first BPM in 1973, at a time when blood pressure measurement was only conducted in medical facilities. Today, technological innovation has enabled users to monitor their blood pressure at home with ease and accuracy.
