KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Berjaya Food Bhd (BFood) was unveiled as the corporate sponsor for the WE2025: Future in Motion Leadership Conference, which will be held on Nov 25–26 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
New strategic partners announced also include the National Council of Women’s Organisations Malaysia, Polity, Peniagawati, the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce’s Women Entrepreneur Committee, the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA Malaysia), WEConnect International, and media partner Ekonomi Rakyat.
WE2025 project director Michelle Lau said BFood's story has always related to the principles of sustainability and inclusivity while also supporting initiatives that establish new benchmarks for corporate responsibility.
"These demonstrate how businesses can inspire others and ignite partnerships that extend well beyond the boundaries of any store or office when they instil inclusivity into their core values.
"And for that reason, their partnership with WE2025 as a corporate entity is significant," she said in her speech during the WE2025 sponsorship, partners, and community initiatives announcement here today.
WE2025 is spearheaded by Qube Integrated Malaysia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and supported by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry.
In a statement, it said the inaugural event aims to attract 10,000 participants and facilitate RM100 million in potential trade and investment.
"Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for 39.5 per cent of the national economy, with women entrepreneurs playing an increasingly significant role — over 20 per cent of all businesses were women-owned as of 2022.
"In this context, WE2025 serves as an important platform to provide SMEs with national-level exposure while equipping women entrepreneurs with valuable insights and guidance from industry leaders who share similar backgrounds," it said.
Meanwhile, Qube Integrated Malaysia managing director Jessie Tan said WE2025 has the potential and needs to be a significant turning point for women in trade and leadership, where business, policymakers, and media can all come together to create opportunities and amplify voices that matter.
She said the summit will be a landmark event for women’s leadership and entrepreneurship in Malaysia — the largest of its kind — as it drives outcomes that foster cross-border and inter-industry partnerships, strengthen leadership pipelines, and showcase inclusive innovations.
"With the voices that will be gathered and the opportunities that will be on display, we are certain that WE2025 will prove pivotal in shaping the future and motion of trade, leadership, and investment in Malaysia," she said.
WE2025 features four main components: the WE2025 Trade and Investment Exposition, which will feature over 100 exhibitors, and the WE2025 Leadership Conference, gathering 1,000 delegates from various sectors.
It also includes WE in Dialogue, with over 10 signature events, and WE in Exchange, which offers curated business matching to foster partnerships and trade.
