KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysia can chart its own course, guided by credible governance, moral clarity and the collective imagination of all who dare to build, said Khazanah Nasional Bhd managing director Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir.
Uncertainty should not be seen as the end of order but the beginning of possibility, he said in his closing remarks at the Khazanah Megatrends Forum (KMF) 2025 themed “Debugging Uncertainty: Lessons from the Grasshopper and the Ant on Living with Risk” today.
Amirul said the forum served as a reminder that in navigating a volatile global landscape, Malaysia’s strength lies in its ability to combine prudence with imagination and courage with conviction.
“KMF’s theme resonates so deeply, in which uncertainty is not a detour from progress but is part of the journey that makes progress possible,” he said.
Reflecting on the discussions at the two-day event, he highlighted that the annual forum continues to be a space where policy, capital and ideas converge to address pressing questions on risk, resilience and renewal.
He said humility and imagination are vital in building systems that remain resilient amid surprises, noting that effective governance serves as a moral compass that transforms risk into innovation.
“Playing it safe is not always safe, and the world will not pause for those who hesitate. Our role as stewards of capital is to preserve value, create value and pass it on responsibly,” he said.
Amirul also pointed out the importance of investing in people, education and social innovation, saying sustainable growth cannot rely solely on capital expenditure but must also strengthen trust and human capital.
Held on Oct 6-7, KMF 2025 marked the 20th edition of the forum and was attended by investors, academics, entrepreneurs and policymakers, reaffirming its role as a platform for dialogue and thought leadership on Malaysia’s long-term economic direction.
