Datuk Vida’s Assets Auctioned For RM1 Mln

IPOH, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Property and goods, including several vehicles, belonging to cosmetic entrepreneur Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, better known as Datuk Vida, were auctioned for RM1 million today.

Among the assets auctioned were luxury vehicles -- a Toyota Vellfire, Toyota Grand Hiace and BMW X7.

Additionally, 727 household items such as dining tables, sofa sets, air conditioners, televisions, electric guitars, pianos, karaoke sets, wall decorations and vases were also auctioned.

The auction process lasted for approximately three hours, starting at 10.30 am, with two bidders at Datuk Vida's house in Meru Heights here.

However, only one person successfully bid, namely businessman Norzamri Abdullah, who managed to acquire all the listed items after another bidder withdrew from the auction.

Licensed auctioneer S Punithawathi said all the seized goods were successfully sold to the bidder for a final bid of RM1 million.

Meanwhile, the plaintiff's lawyer, Samir Zainal, said that the successful bidder must complete the payment process to the court on the same day.

Samir said there was still a remaining claim of RM100,000, the balance of which would be determined later based on instructions and discussions with his client.

“I understand that the claim for the balance will still be pursued, but the amount is not as large as before. There may be follow-up processes, either through negotiations or other actions, but that depends on the next decision," he said.

The media had previously reported that Datuk Vida's household goods and four luxury vehicles in Ipoh were seized after she failed to settle outstanding payments for the renovation of her factory building.

It was also reported that Vida failed to pay over RM1 million in outstanding debts to the construction contractor company for the renovation work on her factory in Shah Alam, Selangor, which was converted into a studio in 2018.
