SEREMBAN, Dec 11 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan government recorded investments from China and India amounting to RM2.71 billion and RM22.81 million, respectively, from 2020 to June 2025, based on the Malaysian Investment Development Authority’s (MIDA) reports.

State Industrial and Non-Muslim Affairs Action Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong said investments from China involved 18 projects, providing 1,115 job opportunities, while those from India were in two projects for the same period.

“The state MIDA office is always active in engaging with investment agencies via organising domestic and foreign investment promotions, seminars and roundtable discussion sessions with potential investors.

“In addition, meetings are also held with organisations, representatives and companies from China and India that have the potential to invest in this state," he said during the oral question-and-answer session at the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly here today.

Teo (PH-Bahau) was replying to a question from P Gunasekaren (PH-Seremban Jaya) about the state government’s achievements in attracting industrial investments from China and India.

He also said that the focus on industrial development in the eastern Negeri Sembilan area, covering Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin, is in line with the state government's planning, which prioritises the agropolis sector, or agriculture-based industries.

He said that although there are not many factories along the main road, there is an organic fertiliser production factory in Jempol, which is now almost completed, with an investment value of nearly RM100 million, located near the oil palm plantation to support production efficiency.

“Additionally, there is the largest investment project, the F&N Dairy Farm, worth RM1.8 billion, which shows the state government’s continued commitment to driving the development of high-impact industries,” he said.

He said the development proved that the state government’s efforts to strengthen the industrial sector in the eastern part of the state were proceeding according to plan and benefiting the local economy.
