KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 (Bernama) -- As of December 2025, Tiankai Square, the core area of Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park operated by Tianjin Tiankai Development Group Co Ltd, has generated a total of 201 independent invention patents, marking a milestone in its development as a leading hub for technological innovation.
Positioned as a flagship sci-tech innovation highland, the park serves not just as a physical venue but as a carefully designed innovation incubator, according to a statement.
It emphasises joint consultation, co-construction and shared benefits, functioning as a source of scientific and technological innovation, a platform for research commercialisation, and an ecosystem for tech service support.
To accelerate progress in five key sectors—next-generation information technology, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, and new energy—the group has partnered with institutions such as the Patent Examination Cooperation (Tianjin) Center of the Patent Office under the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) to create a green channel for expedited patent preliminary examinations.
The Patent Examination Cooperation (Tianjin) Center of the Patent Office and other relevant bodies have introduced a “one specialised team per field” mechanism, drastically reducing the patent authorisation cycle from two to three years to as little as 34 days.
Tiankai Square has also developed a comprehensive sci-tech innovation service system, including concept verification platforms for early-stage research, pilot-scale and maturation platforms to accelerate commercialisation, and a refined incubation chain to support startup growth and expansion.
A senior management representative of the group highlighted that the park fosters an innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem where talent, technology, and application scenarios interact dynamically.
With these initiatives, Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park is poised to achieve even more remarkable results in the years ahead.
