Malaysia's Natural Rubber Production Up 37.3 Pct In December 2025 - DOSM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s natural rubber (NR) production increased by 37.3 per cent in December 2025 to 28,684 tonnes against November’s 20,891 tonnes, chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said.

Year-on-year, NR production decreased by 25.1 per cent (December 2024: 38,299 tonnes), with smallholders contributing 87.2 per cent and estates, 12.8 per cent, he said in a statement today.

“Total NR stocks in December 2025 increased by 1.4 per cent to 121,686 tonnes against 120,030 tonnes in November 2025,” he said.

Mohd Uzir said rubber processors’ factories contributed 76.2 per cent of stocks, followed by the rubber consumers’ factories (23.6 per cent) and the rubber estates (0.2 per cent).

Malaysia exported 32,139 tonnes of NR in December 2025, a 12.7 per cent decrease from November 2025 (36,820 tonnes). 

China remained the main destination for NR exports, accounting for 49.9 per cent of total December 2025 exports, followed by Germany (16.4  per cent), the United Arab Emirates (4.8 per cent), Portugal (3.9 per cent) and Egypt (3.7 per cent).

NR-based products such as rubber gloves, tyres, tubes and rubber thread contributed to export performance.

Gloves were the main exports of rubber-based products at RM1.3 billion in December 2025, a 37.3 rise against RM0.9 billion in November 2025.

An average monthly price analysis showed that concentrated latex rose 0.7 per cent from 576.20 sen per kg in December 2025 versus 571.93 sen/kg in November 2025. Scrap rose by 0.4 per cent to 592.08 sen/kg versus the prior month’s 589.83 sen/kg.

Various grades of Standard Malaysian Rubber showed a rise between 0.3 per cent and 0.7 per cent.
