KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- The "Golden 51 Years: Toward New Heights" China-Thailand SME Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony and Cultural & Economic Exchange Salon was recently held at TusPark in Suzhou.
Co-hosted by the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovative Collaboration Federation and Digital Connect (Thailand) Co Ltd, the event saw participation from government representatives of both countries, including the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) of Thailand and the Suzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Suzhou).
According to a statement, Chinese and Thai enterprise delegations engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation and development prospects for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) between the two countries.
A cooperation agreement was signed between OSMEP of Thailand, the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovative Collaboration Federation, and Tus-Holdings Suzhou, marking the start of substantive collaboration in areas including cross-regional innovation resource integration and industrial cooperation.
During the exchange session, the Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovative Collaboration Federation Vice Chairman, Wu Junyao, described Thailand as a "super connector" for Chinese enterprises entering ASEAN markets.
He emphasised that cooperation should focus on deep integration across industrial chains and proposed a joint China-Thailand industry-education integration base to develop interdisciplinary talent proficient in Chinese, technically skilled, and knowledgeable of the Thai market.
Meanwhile, OSMEP of Thailand Director, Panita Sinthava, praised the long-standing friendship between China and Thailand, noting that the memorandum of cooperation represents a meaningful step toward strengthening long-term bilateral collaboration, building a joint innovation platform, enhancing connectivity, and promoting the two-way flow of industrial and innovation resources.
Recently, the OSMEP delegation conducted a three-day visit to Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, engaging with enterprises and highlighting SME cooperation in technological research and development and industrial integration.
