Polymer Link Targets Growth In Australia After Opening New Warehouse Facility

12/02/2026 04:39 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Plastic powder manufacturer Polymer Link Holdings Bhd is targeting growth in Australia following the leasing of a new warehouse facility there.

Group financial controller Jun Low said the new warehouse in Brisbane is expected to commence operations within one to two weeks.

“With the warehouse in place, we are confident that we can grow our customer base in that region, and that will be one of the drivers to improve our revenue,” he said in a press briefing here today.

Group senior vice president Kevin Koh said the facility will enable the company to serve smaller rotomoulders that were previously unable to take full container shipments.

“With the new warehouse, the company can tap a new customer segment as smaller players, though buying in smaller quantities, place more frequent orders that can collectively exceed the volumes of larger buyers,” he said.

The company already operates facilities in Melbourne and Sydney.

In Europe, Koh said, although sales to Poland declined in the financial year ended 2025, the company continues to view the country as a strategic entry point into the European market.

“The previous customer in Poland was introduced to us by a brand owner expanding into the European market. There was some restructuring on whether operations would be based in Poland or Mexico, which led to changes in volume.

“However, we continue to identify Poland as a strategic platform for entering Europe. Industry estimates indicate there are about 60 to 70 rotomoulders concentrated in Poland,” he said.

Koh also said that operating costs in Poland are relatively lower compared with countries such as Germany.

He added that the European market is technically driven, which aligns well with the company’s research and development (R&D)-focused approach.

“Many customers there require technical polymers, which fit our capabilities. That is why we have identified it as a key market for expansion,” he said.

On challenges, Koh said the group maintains redundancy planning across its operations, noting that about 95 per cent of its revenue is export-oriented.

“If one plant is affected, we can shift production to another facility to maintain supply. Missing even one shipping schedule can create a domino effect, so we plan our operations accordingly,” he said.

Established in 2011 and headquartered in Klang, Selangor, Polymer Link operates across Malaysia, the Philippines, India, the United States and Australia, serving an international customer base spanning more than 10 countries.
